Who we are
Malaysian Students' Association in Japan (MSAJ) was established in the year 1976, with one the objectives of its formation- to unite all Malaysian students throughout all of Japan, and instill togetherness and the spirit of patriotism towards Malaysia. This association is open to all Malaysian students who are studying or undergoing courses for more than SIX months.

As the number of Malaysian students has increased from time to time, MSAJ has also grown bigger, and at present, there are 5 Divisions: Kanto(Head), Kansai, Tohoku, Hokuriku and KYUMA.
Kanto Division covers 12 Prefectures: Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Yamanashi, Shizuoka, Gifu, Aichi, Mie.
Kansai Division covers 15 Prefectures : Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Shiga, Nara, Wakayama, Tottori, Shimane, Okayama. Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi, Tokushima.
Tohoku Division covers 7 Prefectures : Hokkaido, Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, Fukushima.
Hokuriku Division covers 5 Prefectures : Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, Niigata, Nagano.
Kyuma Division covers 8 Prefectures : Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, Okinawa.

If you are a Malaysian currently studying or taking up a course in Japan for more than 6 months, YES YOU CAN! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the registration form (PDF) below.

  3. Complete it along with your photo.
  4. Send them to the EXCO of Registration of the nearest Division to you.

ASEAN Youth Network in Japan (AYNJ)


MSAJ is also a part of ASEAN Youth Network in Japan (AYNJ), a network formed by the ASEAN youth and student organizations in Japan, to enhance the active participation of ASEAN youth in the future development and progress of both ASEAN and Japan. The missions and objectives of AYNJ are to foster teamwork, to create an environment for promoting and developing creativeness, responsibility and to bond strong partnerships between countries, with the aim of realizing ASEAN's vision of peace, progress and prosperity.

    Project Rising The Sun

    Since 2009, MSAJ has embarked on a project called "Project Rising The Sun", with its objectives, among others, is to reconstruct and sustain MSAJ as the representative of Malaysian students in Japan as well as to unite Malaysian students and to promote their participation in this association.
